1983 c20
Hi my name is Hayden I’m brand new here and the proud owner of a 1983 Chevy c20. I know it’s not a k5 but I didn’t see any other square body forum area so here is my question.
my truck has a 250 in-line 6 and a 4 on the floor. Is there any way I can remove all the bull**** smog era hoses and the stupid valve cover hoses and egr bs? Or will that be a disaster? This is my first gasoline truck of this era. My diesel doesn’t have any of this stuff so I’m lost.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.
That engine is set up to run all that smog crap and in some states it is against the law to remove. Does your state have an inspection for emissions? Knowing what was in the rig when you bought it means that in order to get around all that, you can drop a different engine in it that will adapt to the transmission and meet your needs. Maybe do a small block Chevy swap for that V8 power.
