Default 2002 Malibu Surge/Rev

I have a 2002 Malibu with V-6, automatic, a/c and cruise. It has 71,XXX-miles on it and it
surges/revs at highway speeds. We have replaced the fuel-injectors, the MAF sensor. the
brake-switch and disconnected cruise-control. We have also replaced torque-converter,
torque-converter clutch, hydraulic-valve, solenoid and shaft with seal. It still does it. What
is next????? ECM???? It is 100-300-rpm in revs and is enough to kick it out of cruise-control.

Default RE: 2002 Malibu Surge/Rev

I purchased a re-man ECM/ECU and have it in my possession. I have been given advice as what to do next that take different avenues. Should I see if the GM-dealer can re-flash the unit and then have an auto-electric tech install it OR does it have to be installed by the dealer and then have it
re-flashed? Any advice?

Well I guess if you wanted to save yourself some money you could drive it up there, park, install the ecm, and then let them reflash it while it's sitting their. I don't know if they will let you do that in their parking lot though.

Are you sure the ECM is going to fix it though? Kinda seems you have alot of money invested in it and still havn't found the problem. It could have been as simple as the ECM needed to be updated or something like that.
