Intermittent no start
Hello folks, my daughter has a 2007 Malibu 3.5l since she bought it used it’s had its fair share of problems, we’ve been able to fix them all but this latest problem has us stumped. She just got the car out of the shop after replacing the ECM, but yet it’s still not starting after driving, let it sit for an hour and it sometimes starts…
Was told by a mechanic that after all that we’ve done and after replacing the starter that the ECM could be the only problem. But when she took it to the Chevy dealership and had the ECM replaced it started, she drove it and shut it off but when she went back it wouldn’t do anything. No crank, no movement…
That's your typical scumbag dealership solution. Absolutely no electrical troubleshooting skills, so just whack a new ECM in it. The problem is hardly ever the ECM.
Take it to a real mechanic who knows what they're doing.
