Default Gas gauge problem...

my girlfriend/my car's gas guage doesn't work it just says it has a half tank... I think it is the lil gauge in the gas tank...... Any sugestions

The fuel sender unit is most likely bad or the wiring from the guage to the unit has been damaged. The sending unit is in the gas tank but some cars have places in the car or have enough room above the tank so you can replace it without dropping the gas tank. Use a shop manual and if you dont have one get one. the part should be about $100 or less. PM me if you have any more questions
