instrument lights won't work

Default instrument lights won't work

I mean the turn signals work and the parking lights and headlights work but when I pull back the plunger the dash lights don't come on the bulbs look ok and the fuse is good can anyone help please oh yeah it's a Chevy van g10

I don't see the year of the van but the plunger also acts as a dimmer and by turning it you can brighten or lessen the dash lights. Try this first.

Yeah I did that I even took dash apart to see if there was anything loose but I don't think it's a short because they just don't work they don't flicker and the van is a 90

Yes. There is a reostat that when turned from left to right allows full voltage to the dash lights ect. It could just be dirty, but I suspect the wiper is worn out, thus replace the switch.
