94 chevy s10 ignition problem
hey everyone, i have a 94 chevy s10 4.3 vortec. theres a problem somewhere between the ignition and the starter( no power to the starter) i can run a jumper wire from the starter to the battery and fire it up. all light and everything work, radio all lights, just cant start the truck from inside, does anyone know what the problem is, also i looked under the dash and the purple wire looked burnt. does anyone have a pic that shows where the purple wire runs from start to finish. i can see it at the starter and under the dash, wheres it go in between.? the ignition itself seems good
im pretty sure the security system is aftermarket, i think it was disconnected by the previous owner, they had it hooked to a toggle switch, guessing to turn on and off, theres a slue of wires there. theres a thick purple wire that is cut 3 times with 3 different crimp connectors within 4 inches, which im pretty sure is the wire that runs to the starter, it lookes pretty toasted. does the purple wire run anywhere else other than straight to the starter because today i ran a new wire from the starter directly to the purple wire under the dash and i still had nothing. only can start it from jumping a wire from the starter to the battery. i can take a motor out and put one in quick but wiring isnt my thing
