Default Factory GM remote Starter Location? Truck Starts on it's own..

Hello folks, I have been having a odd issue with my 1996 Chevy S-10 Blazer. It has been starting on it's own - not just starting, but it keeps trying to start even though the truck is already running! (not real good for the starter) The first time it did this (at 6 AM!) I just thought that the starter had some how malfunctioned as it was dead. I replaced it with a NEW GM starter last night and all was OK until late last night when it did it again..
(all cables to the starter look good, no shorts, ground checks out OK)
So I am now thinking it must be the remote starter that is buggy. From what I can find out on the net, the remote should be on the left of the steering column. I removed the black box that I found in that location but it turns out that that was the remote lock. As the truck just started on it's own again, I don't think removing the "lock box" helped all that much lol... so just where is that remote starter box located??
Thanks for any help you can give!
Stefan

UPDATE:
I found the remote starter box tucked up in the brace for the dash. Wrapped in black foam and black tape it sure was hard to spot! I also found the two fuses for the Remote starter. I pulled them in hope that removing them should disable the remote starter? Truck starts & runs fine (starter is a bit slow but it has taken some abuse) & two hours now and it still has not started on it's own
Is pulling the fuses enough or should I take out the starter box?
Thanks,
Stefan
