Default Flasher Problem w/1999 S-10 Blazer

The turn signal flasher will start clicking on it's own for no reason. It may click a couple times or go on for a few minutes. Absolutely no pattern as to when it will start, stop or start clicking the next time. Turn signals and hazzard lights work just fine and I've replaced the OE flasher unit which did not help.

Any ideas?

Thanks Much,

Had this same problem with 99 malibu , it was the multifunction switch. This is the left lever you use to engage the turn signals.

I have the same problem and yes from what I"m told from a friend of mine who is a GM dealer mech. it is the switch in your steering colum. I put a short bungy cord on it and hooked it under the dash. I found that with a little forward pressure it stops "ticking". cheap fix to an otherwise pain in the butt problem. and yes, the radio trick works too.
