Hi there, first time here and looking for answers. '98 Blazer LT 4.3L 4x4 2 door. All of a sudden i found a oil leak near the rear of the engine (oil on driveway) on the drivers side. Have read about this being a cooling line. After reading about it and people saying they eliminate the lines and run a straight adapter so filter just goes on like the old style. After looking at mine i cant figure how they do it. Looks like where my filter is attached (front of engine) to a part that has 4 lines running too it (2 go to the radiator and 2 to the rear) with what looks like 1/4" bolts holding this part on. But i dont see how this gets oil in the filter, doesnt look like it goes in the block, looks like it is attached to a bracket. Am i missing something or do i have to replace the 2 lines going to the rear? (hope pictures show what i was trying to explain)
Thanks
Tom
would try that if i could get to the ones at the rear of the engine easy. My question was though can i eliminate that cooling attachment the filter screws into. Looks the only place oil can get to the filter is through those 4 hoses doesnt look like the filter has any direct contact with the block. Thanks for the come back
