Default Upper control arm bushing replacement 1994 S10?

I just have a question on how to replace a 1994 S10 upper control arm bushing. I got the rubber piece out but how do you remove the metal piece of the old bushing, and install the new one? Any help would be appreciated.

In the shop we use a air chisel. You can use a hammer and chisel.

So you just bust it out? I have an air powered chisel, how do you get the new one in as solid as the old one?

cut the old one out carefully with the air chisel ,its best to use a press or arbor press but if your careful with the right sized adaptors you can drive them in clean the hole's out first of rust .drive one in insert the shaft in it and then drive in the other one .

I'm not sure where talking the same thing old dog, the bushing is a one piece part. Here's a photo of the new bushing I have:

Off the old one I have gotten the middle part out of it (the rubber part) but the outer casing of the old one (just like the one in the photo) is set in place, and that's the part I can't get out, so just chisel it?

yes the bushing is comprised of three pieces pressed together when they make the bushing ,the outer steel shell the rubber inner and the steel inner that the shaft goes through .

So how hard should the old outer steel shell be to remove, as I said I've removed the rubber and the inner steel piece but need to remove the old shell to be able to get the new one in.
