Default Aftermarket stereo on 2008 2500HD

I'm preparing to purchase and install a Pioneer nav/dvd/mp3 (Pioneer Premier AVIC-F90BT -http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...VIC-F90BT.html) receiver in my new truck. I believe it is the correct size to fit in place of the OE stereo. Does anyone know of any potential problems with the other installed systems (onstar, chimes, etc.) that I may run into? I am installing one 4-channel amp for the speakers and a dedicated mono amp for the sub. I've read some posts complaining about problemsupgrading to the GM nav/dvd system requiring reprogramming of certain components, and I just want to know what I may face going in.

I am upgrading the speakers, too. Does anyone know if the stock speakers are components? I noticed some small grilles on the columns up by the windshield and I am assuming that they are for tweeters, but I'm not completely sure.

Also, is there any way to disable the chimes since they come through the speakers instead of a fuse box mounted chime? It;s really annoying to listen to them while trying to work on/clean the truck.

Thanks!

first of all do you have the factory bose, yes there are tweeters in the pillars, when you change the radio the chime is prduced by the on star retention module most actually have a separate chime that can be left out with no other problems

No, I do not have the Bose system; just the single cd/mp3/xm.

On the component tweeters, are they wired back to the front speakers in the door like the older component systems? I am getting a set of infinity 6020 components and I am hoping that I canhook up the crossover to thefactory tweeters instead of having to fabricate a piece to fit the new tweeters like i had to do in my 97 k1500 - I'm sure that it is going to be much more difficult with this model.

For the time being I will be using OnStar. Nt sure if I will renew when the free subscription runs out, though. Do I have to do something special to get the OnStar to come through the new system?

if you are gonna run amps yea way different you have 2 options run new wires all the way in the doors, or cut them as they enter the doorbecause the retention module cant handle the extra power from an amp also you need an external speaker for onstar voice

If I use the Scosche GM21SR (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9414_Scosche+GM21SR+-+GM21SRB.html#), will it address this problem?

buy an integration module for your truck and it'll take car of your chimes, onstar, signals, and factory installed back-up sensors if equipped.
you DO NOT need to mount an external speaker....there are audio level adjustments for the onstar and chimes on the module

if you run an aftermarket amp with more than about 40 watts through the intergration piece it will burn it up
