on the list is...

tear bed off
replace fuel lines (how hard is that?)
undercoat the puppy
put muffler and side pipe in
fix the tilt problem on the steering wheel
replace D fender and grille and a little bondo
get decent tiress
get crack in windshield filled
PAINT!! goin with gunmetal gray i think what do you guys think?

****list subject to change haha****

Got the bed off, started cleaning the frame and found that the supports for the rear cab mounts and the front bed mounts is basically gone on the bed side. Will have to patch them up. Also planning on taking out the cross member by the spare tire and replacing it with square stock.

spent the day yesterday needle scaling the frame and cleaning that up.... Still got some to go. patched the two bed mounts and got that all squared away. Went and got a thing of por15 to help protect this thing too. Things are going smoothly.

What's left to do:
Clean up bed rails and undercoat them
Fuel lines from throttle body back
Finish wire brushing the frame and undercoat that
Fix steering wheel
Get new sending unit and filler neck
Fix driver door from sagging
Body work and paint!!!

Hi,

I've been following your post with interest - been doing something similar to a 2004 SWB 4x4 5 spd. The spare tire and associated frame area had a lot of rust - I've rigged up a side mount carrier in the bed. Yes, agree, gun metal gray is a very good color for that model. Please keep posting as I fimd the rebuild very informative.

About the fuel lines it shouldn't be hard unless there rusted but hell your getting new ones if you break them who cares. And with the fender you might get a little surprise when you go to put the new one on. My brothers looked about like that and when we put it on the mounting brackets were off quite a bit. There's always damage that you can't see but its nothing a hammer a some muscle can't fix. I plan on doing some restoration on mine sometime soon cause its getting to that point but I don't want to accept the fact that it needs it. Good luck and post lots of pics. I wanna see how you do everything for tips on mine
