Hey guys,
New here but quick question...
The muffler on the 2500HD is shot. It is not driven a lot and i know thats hard on the muffler. Was considering an aftermarket muffler, but do not want it to be loud. (preferrably not much louder then stock in the cab) Any suggestions?

Local Chevy dealer quoted us $1200 to replace the exhaust. Kind of looking for a cheaper option while not being noisy in the truck. It's a reg. cab long bed 4x4 with the 6.0L V-8/

If you want a stock replacement, go to the junkyard. Or stop by a muffler shop. If you want a flowmaster, a 50 series is pretty quiet.

 

magnaflow mufflers are pretty quiet as well.

 

search youtube on what exhaust you are looking to buy.... that way..you can see it in action and it not be a surprise and it be louder then what u wanted.

 

too bad he doesnt want loud. i'd say go banks power all the way.

 

never mind that post. i didnt know banks made exhausts? i thought they were all diesel stuff like engine stuff not a acual exhaust system

 

im pretty sure they make exhaust systems. isnt the 8.1 a diesel?

 

wait.. where u gettin 8.1 at..its a 6.0 lol and 8.1 is gas.. a big piece of s. engine if u ask me

 

holy ****e lol wrong thread. anywho... thats probably why gm got rid of the 8.1. anyway. with flowmaster the higher the number the quieter it should be. i had a 40 series on my truck then went to a 10 series muffler and it was like day and night.
