2004 Silverado 4x4 BRAKE PROBLEMS
i have a problem with my brakes. I have checked the pads and they still have bout half left and i checked the rotors and all are even and not worn unevenly. Now when i brake it sounds like something is grinding and when i am almost to a complete stop the whole truck shakes. Its only when i brake that it shakes and grinds. Any ideas?
Seems kinda odd?
Did these symptoms happen suddenly or progressively over time?
Over time I would suspect a frozen caliper, warped rotor or wheel bearing going south.
Suddenly a tie rod end or ball joint or loose lug nuts.

It started happening with brakes squeaking about a month ago so I checked the pads and rotors and they were good... Now it's gotten to grinding sound and shaking right when the truck is about to stop. It's at 101,000 miles
Hey man I just had the same problem and it ended up being the brake pads. The pads were still good, about half life left, and they were squealing and everything else like I didnt have any pads at all. It ended up getting aggravated and changed em and they noise has gone away. For the shaking I would lift truck up and check tie rod ends balljoints and what not. I think you got some warped rotors.
