I have already tested both the Dorman and GM units. They both were using the same exact defective motors, they must of made millions of them. The motors burned up very quickly, especially under heavy use. The rest of the mechanism both seemed to be identical, and of good enough quality. It was the motor in all cases that was not sufficient.

 

FYI - we are working on another repair for the folding mirrors on the GM trucks. Please see this thread if your mirrors no longer fold in.

Not 100% sure what the beginning of this question was, but sounds like the motors are bad, as that happens in 99% of these...
