Default 2008 Silverado intermittent starting problem

2008 5.3 4x4 130k last year had intermittent starting problem every several weeks... no start, good battery, clicking noise like the selenoid would click. Would always start with a boost. Changed selenoid. No problem for several months.... 4000k, now problem back. Anyone with this experience or solution?? Thanks

would it be a single click or multiple ones? i would inspect your battery cables and clean them as the problem went away after messing with the cables the first time

Thanks...One loud click which sounds like selenoid each time you turn key. Every time it happened it went with a boost. Has not happened now for at least three weeks, 50 starts.

Next time, have someone hold key to start and tap starter with a hammer. If it starts you need to replace or rebuild starter
