when i go thew the gears P R N D 123, my reverse light go on and than goes off,want i stop on reverse why? can someone help. all my lights work fine, back up, turns and brake, but not the reverse.::

 

The light on the Cluster? or the actual reverse lights?

 

my reverse lights and lens, connect are new... question on cluster, what light? my reverse
flashes as you go by the gears, when you stop on reverse nothing.

 

Sorry, the cluster thing im thinking of newer body style. If it flashes but does not stay on when shifted into reverse, it can be an issue the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission. Might be something simple as and adjustment or may need to be replaced.
Park/Neutral Position and Backup Lamp Switch Adjustment

• Check the switch for proper operation.
• The engine must be in the P (Park) or N (Neutral) positions only. If adjustment is required, loosen the switch retaining bolts and rotate the switch slightly.
• Tighten the bolts and check the switch for proper operation.
• Repeat the switch adjustment procedure until the engine starts when the shift lever is positioned in park and neutral.

 

Had to buy a new shift indicator, than i adjusted the neutral safety switch..now everything is working. Thank you very much Joe
