I have one brake light not working (driver’s side). It is not the bulb, circuit board or the wiring past the plug at the rear of the bed. It is only one brake light; could it be the turn signal switch? Or the brake light switch? I have hesitated to replace either of these because it’s only the one brake light. how exactly did you test it?
and by plug, do you mean the wiring harness that splits off to both taillights?
I had an issue with my 3rd light, I took off all the interior panels and just fololowed
the voltage til it stopped.

 

Yes it COULD be the T/L switch, no on the brake light switch. Does the turn light work on that light? That would tell you the wiring is OK from the switch.

 

I found that if I held the brake pedal and push the turn signal up just a bit, the brake light would come on. It was the turn signal switch. I replaced it and it fixed the problem. Good test if anyone elss has the same problem..I was looking at it all wrong b/c I didn't notice the brake light untill right after I replaced the bed. Thought it must be the wiring! I was wrong. Thanks for the help.
