Guys,
New to this so if this is not right, forgive me. Just bought my son a 97 Z71. Don't know if the key is worn out or what, but ignition is hard to unlock to turn over and start the truck. It was not like this when we bought it and seems to be getting worse. How difficult is it to change the ignition switch? Any tips would be much appreciated.

my 95 does this sometimes..i always grab the wheel(it'll move about 1" if its like my truck) and turn it as i try to start the truck.. good luck!

 

Thanks for the input, gotstylez! I tried that, among other things to no avail. Ended up getting a locksmith out, had the ignition switch removed, new key cut from the code on ignition, problem solved! Keys were worn out. Thank you again for your input gotstylez!
