Default Alarm on 2008 Silverado

I have a 2008 LTZ Silverado. Is it possible to add options to the stock alarm system such asa glass break sensor? My 2000 Silverado was broken into back in 2002 and the thieves knew not to open the doors when they were stealing my stereo equipment.

You cannot add just the glass break sensor. you would have to add an aftermarket alarm system to be able to have the glass break .
You may also be interested in a motion sensor. They are used primarily on convertables, but you could easier add it to your truck,(with the use of the alarm system), and adjust it so if anyone sticks their faces against the glass to look in the truck, it would issue a warning chirp, then if they went further than the glass, it would trigger a full alarm

Here is a link below to an add-on GM accessory, this sensor is adjustable and can be set to trigger by a light bump or jar.

There is a data interface that adds an alarm to the gm lan bus system. All done thru data. You can add glass break, microwave sensor, tilt sensors. If you want info I can send you am IM with further details.

There is also an aftermarket data interface add-on that has a two-way remote that replaces the OEM remote one.

This works very well, we just added it to one of our company trucks. You will need a tech 2 programs for it to work. very easy install just follow the directions.
