any ideas on lifting my truck??
Really want to lift my 2003 1500 truck and need some ideas. I would like to go up around 8 in but have no idea what to buy such as do I go with a suspension or body lift? Also would like to get some ideas on tires and rims. obviously dont really want to break the bank but any suggestions would be awesome. thanx a lot !!!!
If you were to lift the truck I would suggest going a lift kit...but there is always the option of an airbag suspension as well...that will allow you to raise your truck and lower it back to ride height so you can have the best of both worlds...just throwing that out there....but as far as lifting it...I would get the 8in lift kit...
Hi jrmoeller23,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
Start lookin' at the TIRE RACK to pick out a set of custom rims for your glammin'
33s...
...stock tires are going to look like rubber bands on a lift like that.

That seems rude, but when you think about it, no sooner than someone lifts the truck 6-8", gets 30s or 50s on her, and the next thing you see is it's on the front lawn with a big "FOR SALE" sign on it.
Beginners should beware: While a lifted truck IS great to drive, there are a lot of unseen expenses. It's almost like your truck KNOWS when you have money, and wants it. You go through brakes two or three times as fast. Whatever your mileage is, cut it in half, that's what you'll get; between added wind resistance and increased drive-train stress.
One solution might be to buy a truck that's already been lifted. It'll be cheaper and save you a lot of time and trouble.
Many states have "rollover" test for truck inspections, if you've lifted her. Google your state's motor vehicle inspection laws.

i aggree there is no need to lift your truck unlees you are doing it for work or if you plan on going competitive, just driving a lifted truck just for the sake of doing it, is just backassward
