Default Better Airflow...

Question: What is the easiest and cheapest way to improve airflow?

I have a 2002 Silverado 2500 HD with K&N FIPK (Not cheap). Once in a while i will take out my passanger side headlight to allow for more airflow. My buddies call me crazy for doing this but i can feel the increased response to the throttle when cruising on the freeway. What do you guys think? Am i crazy? What other mods can i do?

Go to an auto parts store. I.e. Kragen, autozone etc. And check out their CAI fittings and accessories.
You can buy a hose and custom rout a snorkel that plugs straight into the end of your filter which is
Kinda what I did.
However I also plan on purchasing an aftermarket hood with a RAM air intake to supply all the cold
Air I need to my intake.
There are several different styles for $300-$500 like dual snorkels, or the 1 I think I am gonna
Get for $300 which has 1 large intake in the center of the hood that looks identical to the
Dodge R/T style hood.

Cool. Thanks. I will try to mock up some sort of Ram Air. I would love a new hood but kind of costly. Does it matter if i get a carbon fiber hood besides the wieght reduction. Would i lose any kind of rigid support?

Have you heard of the air scoop which installs in the tow hook area?

I looked into installing an air scoop down there, then attaching a snorkel tube to it,
But I want a more direct source of air and not want to have to worry about rerouting
Hoses and stuff. So I figured a hood with a RAM air intake scoop would be the best way.
Plus some brands are not TOO terribly expensive. The 1 I like is $300 which is reasonable to me.

I too was thinking about water being an issue. I don't want my engine hydrolocking.
But then I thought that if it was a huge issue, then makers wouldn't have their vehicles come
Stock with RAM air intakes. But just to be on the safe side, I decided to put a thin film of
heat/water resistant film in between the filter and the ram intake so no water will splash on the filter,
But the fresh cold air will easily be able to flow around the film
