ok so my truck is a 1989 Silverado C2500 2WD 350/5.7

ok so I just got brake shoes for my truck today and im all ready to replace them but my dad recommended that i should replace the springs he can't remember if he ever had them changed and they look pritty beat up and rusty, so i think i am just ganna change them.

ok my question is how to tell which springs i need to buy, autozone sells two different spring kits.

One -
Application: With 11 5/32 x 2 3/4" brakes
Duralast/Brake Drum All-In-One Kit - Rear (H7191) | AutoZone.com

Two -
Application: With 11.15" x 2.75" brakes.

If you look at the sizes, the are the same. One is fractions and one is decimals. If you read the description on the Autozone site the one in fractions says sell until depleted. The decimal one is replacing the other one. Either one should work.

 

Yea I noticed that too this morning when I read this post. If they are 11" in shoes then it doesnt matter what springs you get. They should still be the same. In any event, the difference between fractions and decimals is probably the way they stamped the specs on the drum.

 

Since you're already in there you might as well replace the cylinders too, never fails as soon as you fix the other parts something else fails...

 

thanks everyone for the help. this job just turned into a pain lol. i changed the shoes, return springs, and the adjusters and wheel cylinders. now im just wainting on some extra money so i can go and get rotors at 66$ each lol everything went pritty smooth except the new springs they really had some good tension on them lol.
