Default Carb CFM question

Hello,
I'm currently building an engine and need a new carb for it. It is a 70's 350 with 2.02 heads and a comp cams ***** thumpr cam. Looking at high 9's : 1 compression. Has an edelbrock performer intake.
Any input is much appreciated

I would think a 750 would be more than enough, I am not an engine builder by any measure but I don't think the compression ratio has an effect on the flow of the heads. That would depend on the intake, valve size and port size of the heads.

a 750 cfm carb mite work to a point..BUT it will not get you into the high 9 sec. range if you are running GM 2.02 heads. good after market heads that complement your cam profile are needed. if your ready to run it, see it someone can lend you a 750 cfm carb, a do a couple of WOT runs with a vac. gauge on a manifold vac source. if your showing 5-7 in. of vac on the gauge, then go with a 850 cfm carb..
also check your intake profile for flow. need one good flowing over 6000 rpm

good luck

I may have misunderstood, but I don't think he said he was looking to run in the 9 second range. He was talking about compression ratio.

Definitely not expecting any runs in the 9's, but since you brought it up... No, the 2.02's were sort of a convenience, just wanted to know what would sufficiently fuel them, i figured 750 would be plenty. Thanks for the input!
