Default chime start sounding while driving

twice this has happened to me , my 02 silverado v6 stick the chime starts sounding while I was driving.. both times about 15-20 minutes after starting up
first time I giggled the key and cut off the iginition accidently , well that cleared the chime from sounding
2nd time I pulled of the road and it stopped by itself....
NO warning lites were on , door was closed,
any thoughts??

It'd sound waaaaaaaaay before 15 mins if it was the turn signal right? Maybe be a short somewhere.

Thanks guys I finally received my owners manual(it was missing from the truck) and read about the turn signal thing, something about 3/4 of a mile if not cancelled... I think the turn signal mechanism cam may be a little wompus and not releasing the stalk because now thinking back I had made a right turn with blinkers a minute before

Same thing happened to me with my 2000 Z71, scared the heck out of me thinking something major was wrong.
Turns out it was my blinker still going. I felt a lot better when I figured it out.

When it happened to me, I was pulling a large trailer and paying attention to where the trailer was, not my dash.
I do see many going for miles with blinkers on, I think it's called an eventual left, (or right).
