Default cruise control not working

I have a Silverado 1500 LT2 4.8L crew cab 2007. My cruise control is not working, except when my trailer (lights) is connected. This problem started a couple of weeks ago. How can I determine the cause of this problem and how to solve this. Please note that I'm based in The Netherlands, so I have no official Chevrolet dealer available. Many thanks in advance for your possible support.

Did the cruise control stop working after some other work was done on the truck? At any rate always check all of your fuses first.

No, the cruise control didn't stop working at once. I remember a couple of times that it stopped after >20 minutes driving my car with cruise control. Then the next trip it worked again for a while. Last week it didn't work at all. But this is the weird part: when I attach the trailer with it's light plug behind my car, the cruise control works normally!!!!!!!!! Summary: cruise control does not work anymore but with a trailer (and it's plug connected to the car) it does work.

I am having the same problem with my cruise control. It worked intermittently and finally quit working. I read some post that suggestion a switch near the brake pedal. What is the easiest solution?

Default working again

Believe it or not. It appeared that my left front speaker failed a couple of weeks later. As I live in The Netherlands and ordering a new one would take a couple of weeks, I unmounted the speaker until a new one was delivered from the US. Since then I have my cruise control working properly again.

I have no clue how it all works but I'm happy now. Thanks for all your input.
