Oh, they want the reputation.

They just don't want it to cost them anything...

Thumbs up Milage Post

Just joined today. I wanted to see what kind of mileage others have rolled on the Rados. I just made a trip to Connecticut from Florida and rolled 161,000 miles. Towed/hauled about 2500lbs on the way and pulled and average 14 mpg. I did not nurse it either. The 5.3's torque is too nice to waste. I have owned several trucks (and cars) over the years and this Chevy has proven to be the most reliable vehicle thus far. Last year I was in the market to replace it and I ended up getting a Subaru Outback as a commuter and kept my Pickem Up. I just cannot part with the beast.

Going for 200K!

Just hit 200K on my 2000 Silverado 1500 Ext.Cab
Bought it new in Oct.1999.

Water pump replaced at 180K
Brake pads at 160K
E-Brake shoes at 110K
Fuel pump at 190K
Getting ready to have the ABS module rebuilt

Runs perfect and has been the most trouble vehicle I have ever owned.

Everything is the same unlike the old days.
Only difference is the outside.
I have 30 years with GM.

My 93 Z71 ext. cab Silverado has 290,000 miles replaced the tranny @ 265,000 miles just got it out of the shop had to replace the oil pump because the oil pressure was dropping very low. Has been a very reliable truck replaced the fuel pump and the radiator but thats about all except for stuff like belts and batterys.

I wouldn't trade it for anything ... My friends always ask to sell it to them. 184,000 miles and it still runs strong.
