Default horn blowing fuses

my 2002 chevrolet silverado 1500hd is blowing fuses when i blow the horn. i even tried putting a 20amp fuse instead of a 15amp fuse and my horn will blow once and then the fuse will blow. does anyone have an idea where to start looking to see what the problem is. thanks in advance...

you need to get a continuity tester and test your wires from end to end, find which wire has a short.

I suggest you to inspect the fuse to see if the silver colored band inside is melted or broken, indicating a blown fuse, and also check your owner's manual ahead of time to locate the fuse and keep extra fuses on hand for any important electrical functions.

i have checked the fuse and it blows right away after one honk of horn. even went up a size and it blew as soon as i got one honk.

i am trying to locate a wiring diagram for my truck to try and shoot the wires. i just have not been able find a good wiring schematic to do so with

Thanks for all the replys so far they are greatly appreciated.

Probably the horn. Disconnect, install new fuse, then hit the horn. If it dosen't blow the fuse, replace the horn

It is better to check the wire properly. Their might be any short circuit. Or buy new horn and all the parts from warning lights.
