Unhappy Hydro locked? What did i do? Plz help!

Hi im new to the forum!

So yesterday i took my 04 silverado 4x4 with the 4.8 through a "mud pit" that consisted of mainly water. It was about 2 feet deep give or take. I hit it realy fast and all of a sudden my motor suddenly stopped. I cranked it over an finaly it ran at about 200 rpm (amazing) and reved it up to where i droped it into gear an it hauled out, it jerked allot an when i came to a stop an poped my hood, my airbox was full of water an the container in the air intake had about a half gallon of water in it, i drove it home after emptying it(about 10-15 mins) it seamed to have a miss when i tried giving it allot of gas, i checked the oil and it seamed slightly milky but it could be fine, an noticed my coolant was slightly lower and i could smell coolant being burned out the exhaust but didnt see any steam. So the question is what procedure should i take? Did i blow a head gasket? Crack a head? Crack the block? It didnt hydrolock cuz the motor started up after right? Please help, i dont wanna tear it all down to find nothing wrong

Welcome to the forum...
You stated the oil was milky... that is water in the oil. My concern with that is the that it was driven for a period after that water int he oil and that most likely has damaged or shorten crank, cam and rod bearing life...

Hi eddiebray73,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

I would clean the MAF sensor, change the oil and filter,

and borrow a code reader from a buddy, and do a OBD

code check, and run a compression test.

But I tend to over-think these things, from time

to time. IME, however, lack of coolant will crack a

block, whereas any contact with any water will usually

only draw off heat.
