Default k 1500 tranny

so my girl friends brother bought a k1500 for a few hundred bucks good deal right???? not! so the tranny goes and we are in the search for a new tranny. the truck is a 4x4 and has a column shifter. what kind of tranny am i looking for and what would be a decent price on this tranny??? thank you every one

what year is the truck? and dont take a blown tranny in the worst thing possible, ive had 4 trannys go on my truck so far and im yanking out this one this weekend to rebuild it myself

He already bought it and the trans went its a 95
we found a trans from a 92 but will they swap ? its a manual but I have the equipment to take the old one out and punch a hole in the floor .... not really looking forward to it

IF it will work you'll need a clutch..everthing to hook that up(slave cylinder,pedle ect) and possibily a different transfer case if its forwheel drive(im not sure on this one)
also it will probably matter if it the trans if 4x4 or 2wheeldrive

It was a extra4x4 and we are putting a 4x4 manual in it my dad said it should work but its gonna he hell

It's was a 4x4 auto before I'm hoping to drop a 4x4 manual in I have the clutch and all that I grabbed the wiring harness too cause I'm not sure if the hook UPS are the same

it will work, you will need the pedal set-up from the donor truck and buy a new clutch, you will also need the flywheel from the donor truck. wiring harness isnt a big deal all u need is the 1 wire for the reverse lights, also make sure you take out the gears from the speedo cabl out of the original transfercase and put iti into the new one
