Default Maximum Tire Size for 07 HD and leveling / lifting / cranking torsion bars

I have an 07 2500HD Z71. It is currently stock with 245 tires on it, which make it look petty pathetic. It looks like the maximum tire size without modifications I could fit might be 285 / 75 / 16. I am thinking about Firestone MTs which I have on my 01 GMC 2500HD. The same tire in a 315 / 70 looks to be about the same height, but wider, and might look really good on this truck.

That said, I wouldn't mind going bigger, but don't have any idea what I'm getting into in terms of the need for lifting or leveling or larger wheels. I would like to stay with stock rims. Whatever the case, I don't want to trim any or refit any components of the body.

Currently, this truck seems to me to sit kind of low to the ground. Can some of this be cured by cranking up the torsion bars or using torsion keys? I don't know much about this stuff. Need some help!

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2wd 2500hd. I'm running 265/75r16 in the front, cranked my t-bars up 2 1/4 inches and they still rub at full turn. If yours is 4wd you may get by with cranking the t-bars and running 285 with minor rubbing.

On my 2001 2500hd 4x4 with factory 2 inch body lift i cranked up the t-bars and ran 315/70/16 i had to trim the front plastic valence and they rub when i turn lock to lock but they still fit and i havnt had any issues with it.
