1984 k20, I pushed in on the pedal for the parking brake and I heard a loud bang from under the truck. I then pulled the release and the pedal came back up like it should and I tried to back up but the truck would not move.

Since then I have removed the wheel and the drum. The parking brake on the drivers side is applied but the cable isn't obviously broken. I've tried hitting it and pushing on parts to no avail.


What is even happening?
