Default pump rub

I have a 07 classic 2500hd duramax. I guess the pump in the transfer case can rub a hole is the rear case half of the transfer case. Anyone have problems with this happening? Aftermarket kits are available for around 75 bucks. I have around 110,000 miles on it. I just wondered if it was worth the time and money to put it in. I would do the work myself if I ever get time.

if the pump hasn't worn through. An updated part P/N 89059653 is available from gm for about $20. drop the tcase, split the case and install the clip. you will also need a new gasket where the tcase bolts to the trans...don't use rtv or it will leak.

How this issue was never a recall is beyond me, I see more cases leaking than not. Most people assume its the slip yoke seal when in fact there is a little hole in the top of the case from the pump rubbing and leaking.
The housing is magnesium and cant be welded so i just clean it thoroughly and jb weld the hole and put a dab of rtv on the case saver clip where the hole is.
