It won't bolt up to a Full Floater 14bolt. I doubt it will hook up to a semi Floater 14bolt, becasue those are in 1500HD, and light duty 3/4 tons. You would have to swap the yoke on the 14bolt rearend. I don't know if yours would swap directly.

from what i can tell on oreilly's auto web site, the 1/2 and 3/4 u joints are the same, so you should be ok. the only thing that is variable is 2wd or 4wd, ext. cab. short or long bed, no mention of tonnage. take a look

Just had a repressed memory rise....
On my 89' I blew th e700r4 up for the last time. I slapped in a TH400 and used the driveshaft from the 94' 2500 I got it from, I had to swap the yoke from the 14Bolt to my 10 bolt. Now from working on a few trucks from teh late 90s' up to mine, The only change to those rearends have been disc brakes.

What I'm saying is, if you find a 14 bolt, and your driveshaft don't fit. the yokes will swap.

possibly one of the greatest quotes I've ever heard...

But beside the point, a 3/4 axle couldn't hurt, but I'm running 35's on my truck and haven't had any issues yet with my 1/2 axle. But now that you mention all this I might have to look into a bigger axle myself...
