Default Speedometer doesnt work :(

Hi everybody !
I just bought my first american car ( i arrived from france about 10 months ago ) and i got a 91 chevy C1500 4x2 long bed.
Let me tell you, you guys know how to make TRUCKS !!
This thing is a real piece of art to me !
Anyways its old and it has his lot of issues of course.
Mechanically its in real good shape, i've been driving it for 2 weeks and so far no problems !!
But now i want to fixing the last few details to make it a really sweet truck.
So the first thing i wanted to ask is :
The speedometer doesnt work at all. Any advice about how to determinate what is causing that ?

Thank you so much in advance for all your answers

Long live america !

Really doesn't look like the body is too bad either. Looks like the typical paint issue from the early 90's, but that picture doesn't show any rust.

Not sure on the speedo in that year. Hopefully someone can help you.

hmm, could be a few issues. if they used cable it could be bad, if its electronic the stepper motor could be bad or a bad wiring ground. a few different possibilities
