RE: starting problems
I'll test it and see what it reads. Thanks for the input!
Oh, yeah, if the fuel pump is going out or is faulty why would it run just fine on the road or going down the highway? Wouldn't it run bad or not at all?

RE: starting problems
Not necessarily, fuel pumps can fail in many different ways.
Some just plane quit while others work for a while until they warm up and then stop working until they cool off, and others will quit operating for no apparent reason at all and seconds (or minutes) later they purr like a kitten.

RE: starting problems
turns out that it was the fuel pump. Pressure when ignition was turned on was around 5psi then took a while to build up to the normal 30 or so psi. So replace fuel pump assembly and starts like it should and now my fuel gauge works correctly.
Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, maybe you are having a problem such as mine. 97 blazer intermittent start problem. I believe the problem is being caused by the fuel pump relay not becoming energized when key is turned through run position to start position. Sometimes I have to cycle the key slowly to run position and back to off 3 or 4 times before I finally here the fuel pump come on. I believe that something in the column ignition switch or ECM that is not sending signal to fuel pump relay.
