Default Tranny leak

Well I only have 1300 miles and my tranny is leaking[] at the bellhousing could be a bad torque converter or front tranny seal either way the dealer is going to have to pull the tranny. It goes in Tuesday . I hope this is not what I am going to have to deal with all the time. My 82 GMC Jimmy leaked every where and I had to spend a lot of cash to fix those leaks permanently.

Is this brand new or a rebuild? 1300 miles, nothing should be leaking!!

Wow, thats crazy!! I would be ripped if that was my truck! I would say the dealer owes you a months worth of free gas for that blunder! Good luck to you. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I have had37 new vehicles, since 1955,and have never had a tranny leak.Maybe a seal was damagedduring installation. Iwouldn't be very happy either. Good luck and let us know what the problem was.

If it is leaking from the bellhousing/flywheel cover, it is the rear oil pan seal or the trans imput. I don't say the engine rear main because if that goes it's usually bad, but it is a possiblity. Is the oil red or black? Red tranny, black engine. Either way it shouldn't be to bad.

Just talked to dealer. They say it was the front pump in the transmission that was leaking. They were test driving it while I was on the phone with them. I should have it back tonight. The truck was built in Indiana so probaby some body had a hangover or a monday morning issue and screwed it up.
