By cycling the switch several times you continue to prime the fuel system; that again makes me suspicious of a problem with fuel backflow valve.

Is that the FPR you are talking about?? I bought a new one and put it in. Was over $100 and didn't change the problem. Can you be more specific??

I believe there's a backflow valve built in to the fuel pump so the fuel line stays primed. I have read where people splice one in to the fuel line vs changing out a new pump.

*SOLVED* It was the fuel pump. There is a check valve in the fuel pump that prevents the loss of fuel prime after shutting off the engine. This is why I could restart the engine right after shutting it off to go in a gas station really quick, but anything longer than that would often result in the delayed start or extended crank as I like to call it.
