Default 03 Suburban dying while driving

We've been having a problem the last few days with our '03 dying while we are driving down the highway at 65-75 mph. Put it in neutral and it will start up on the first or second try before you can even get pulled onto the shoulder, but it continues to do this. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Does it only happen when you are at or below a 1/4 tank of gas? I have an 02 that does the same thing but only when it gets at or below a 1/4 tank of gas. I had the dealership check out the fuel pump and they found nothing wrong, we put new fuel filter on and flushed the engine, but everything keeps checking out fine. I'm begining to believe it's a computer problem.

It does it even at just under a full tank. We're starting to think it's a computer problem as well. He's on the highway in Missouri and it happened 4 or 5 times in about an hour span. He stopped at a rest area, got lunch, and he said it's running like a champ now, so we'll see what happens. I have a feeling it'll be at a dealership come Monday. Thanks!

Tell them to check the crankshaft position sensor. What size is the engine? we have an '02 8.1L and it was doing this about 2-3 times a day. Replaced it and all is well now.

Good luck

I'm not entirely sure what the engine size is, but I'll definitely have that checked. Thanks!
