Sabr... LMAO. Thats great, but at least its under warranty.

I am going to remove the grille, fan shroud, skid plate, etc. to view the compressor and condensor better. I got a high dollar snifffer from a friend today so if all else fails I will add a little freon and turn the a/c on. I just can't imagin this big of a leak being so damn hard to find. Its driving me crazy! Oh well, anything to help a friend.

Thanks again, guys.

If it's not a hose or hose connection, then my guess is the compressor axial seal or a hole in the condensor.

I narrowed down the problem to the evaporator. I found a very small leak on the low side service valve. I replaced the valve and added a few ounces of freon. Without turning on the vehicle, I used the sniffer b/c I heard a hissing (leaking) sound near firewall. When I got near the evaporator box on the passengers floorboard area, the sniffer went crazy. It would really go nuts near the passenger floor vent and around the floorboard and especially the evaporator box.

Does anybody have a "step by step" on how to replace the evaporator core on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe? I can handle the job. I have done many heater cores in the past. (mostly on fords). I really don't want to purchase a manual unless totally necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Default Another AC deal

I've got another one for ya'll. Just bought an '03 Z71 Tahoe. I think the AC was working when I test drove it but now it is not blowing from the rear vents, everything works great up front and the digital controls work in the back but the blower in the rear won't come on. All of the fuses at the drivers door and under the hood are good. Any suggestions?

Thanks Thumper, I will check out the site.

Shark, thats a great idea that I havent thought about. I have alldata but it says the steering column has to be removed and in previous experiences you can usually just lower column.

I might take pics of the process if I find shortcuts that are significant. I was hoping someone had already done it for me.
