Sorry I didnt take any pics when the whole thing was apart. So I wouldnt really be able to show anything with pics now because I basically hid all the wiring in the shielding and the grounds for each light are behind the bumpber cover.

Hey Seneca thanks anyways. But if you could post a pic. of what you did in the fuse box that would be grately appreciated. If that’s not possible maybe you can tell me what I have to buy at PepBoy's to tap into fuse #27, the rest of your post already have a lot of info, like where to ground it. As far as the wiring being in the shielding and not being able to see them in a pic. I’ll just pretend they are there. I could see from all of your postthat you where also a bit frustrated when you where trying to get this"UPGRADE" up and going. I tried looking at the links you had posted but no luck. So I think just a simple pic of your fuse box will do. Thanks in advance

I was getting a little upset because it was mentioned here that all that had to be done was plug the foglights in and plug in the switch.Well come to find out, there is no wiring to the foglights from the fusebox in models that do not have the foglight option.I brought the Tahoe tothe dealer and they even thought it was a "plug and play" add on but it was not and they politely told me to find a install shop and I was on my way.
Anyway here are some pics I just took of the fuse box.....Note the fuse tap and the wiring going into the factory harness.(shielding)

Hey thanx alot for your help. You don't know how much I appreciate you taking the time to take some pics and posting them. I'll be perchusing the OEM switch and voala. One more question, so all need to do is plug the factory harness to the factory switch? OK 2 ?'s .So your fog light indicator on your dash cuts on when you cut your fogs on?

Seneca, excellent pix! Wow, you even hid the wires down the original tubing.

However, my '08 LS fuse box isdifferent than what you show in your pix. Both the fuse and relay are already there in mine. When weather permits, I'll shoot a pix ofmine.

No problem.
I wish I would have taken some pics when I was wiring them up.
tahoe,Yes the switch plugs directly into the harness under the dash and the Yes the foglight indicator comes on when the foglight switch is depressed (when the foglights come on) and goes off when they are pressed off.

If someone had a bit more time, you could pop the fuse box out (not that hard,I did it) and wire directly to the protected side of the fuse and it wouldappear exactly like a factory installation.
You could use the little GM conector and run the wire to it.OR.....someone could find out the part number for that little harness that plugs into the fuse box(1 of about 4 seperate harness's under the hood) and then run the new harness with the pigtails for the foglights.Thenit would be EXACTLY what a factory foglight option would look like but I figured this was the easiest and mostlogical option for me even though I almost did the harness swap.

Good luck (even though you wont need it)

I just ran mine straight to my low beams and they come on everytime my low beams come on.. I didn't want to mess with the switch or anything like that.. I t was a lot easier than running tons of wires and having to put a new switch in..Also I wanted them on all the time when I had my lights on....

Yeah,I was going to wire it to my low beams. That would have been really easy but I wanted it to be like a factory install...and once I figured out how easy it was to make it work like it should,I just ran two wires to each foglight and that was it.There wasnt a "bunch" of wires involved just 2 and the short grounding wires....As for the switch its 2 minute swap.
Also when you tap into the low beams there is a chance of melting wires due to the higher amperage of the added foglightson your low beam fuse so be careful, the foglights should be on there own fuse to keep a fire from occuring that is why they use a relay and a dedicated fuse for the factory install.BE CAREFUL it would be ashame for a new vehicle to go up in flames due to over stressing a fuse and its associated wiring.
