07 OEM GM TAHOE NAVIGATION UNIT 4 SALE! LOOK
Well,
I researched the 2007 OEM GM/CHEVY navigation units, Dave helped me with most everything. Thank you for that. Now the issue.
I just purhcased a New GM OEM take out 07 Navigation unit. I actually dont even have it yet. However, I have paid and it is on its way. I told the wife I purchased one, my money so why would she care! WRONG. She went nuts, she said well the last time you got one of those it was the biggest waste of 2k dollars. It didnt go over very well. So, I think I am just going to sell it, yes before I have it!
)))
No it should be here early next week and I will inspect it, but it is a NEW OEM take out. It is newly removed. However, I have thought about putting it on ebay, it seems they bring good money on there. However, after 600 feedback on ebay I am tired of paying ebay and paypal fees. I will accept paypal for payment, and would list it on ebay if that made someone feel more secure about the deal. But you wont find a more honest person,
.
Anyways, if anyone is interested in this 2007 GM Navigation unit please let me know. Shoot me some offers. I dont really know what I will take for it, I paid a big price for it! It is the 66 serial number so it is good for the rear dvd and can play dvds on its own screen with the lockpick! It didnt not come with the discs, antenna or booklet. Just the navigation unit. It is plug and play and easy installation from what I have been told, again thank you Dave/ZX.
Shoot me some offers. Again, nothing set in stone until it arrives and I can inspect it and take pictures to show the interested parties. I will have to hold off on my Navigation unit dream until I can sneak it by the wife or make up some story about winning it or something. GRRRR. I cant believe she was so pissed, yes guys you can see who wears the pants! Dont give me any crap, because if you tell me your wife has the dress on, I WONT BELIEVE IT!
SHOOT ME SOME OFFERS GUYS! Thanks, Landon. My email is biglg@hotmail.com if you need that too!

Built in Navigation in an automobile is one of those things where you have to just pull the trigger and buy it already in the car from the factory to truly appreciate it. For one, you don't have to go through the hassle of installing it after the fact... which could open a Pandora's Box of electrical wiring mess (i.e. head unit, antenna, integration with the audio system, etc). Even if it is truly "plug and play", who wants to rip apart their dash and center console of their brand new vehicle just to install it?
My wife and I were both skeptics about navigation units in cars until we got our first one in our 2005 Pacifica Limited. We've never got lost before, but let me tell you.... going for a drive to look for homes or just take the kids for a drive around town never felt to worry free with the nav system... you always know where you are, always know the way out of the neighborhood you're driving in and can search for points of interest right away. Then we started using it a lot for directions to places we already knew where they were, but have never been there and never driven to them. It started to come in real handy several times.
Soon, before you know it, you can't live without it. We've since then sold the Pacifica (space and power issues with two kids and traveling up the Sierra's) and now have two brand new vehicles with Nav systems in them (07 Tahoe LTZ and 06 Z06 Corvette). We didn't even think twice about ordering the Nav system in them... it was a must have.
I still have my daily driver 2000 Dodge Durango which doesn't have Nav (never came with it), but I've been toying with the idea of buying a plug-in Nav system!

Not sure I understand the above however it isnt difficult to install.
If you read the posts about intalling the navigation it is basically plug and play. Pop center trim ring from around the radio. Undo some screws and remove existing radio. Plug Navigation unit into existing harness! Now wire the antenna on passenger Apillar, the mount is already there, plug it into the head unit. Take to dealer for Tech 2 update!
Anyone with any capability should be able to do this. There are plenty of guys on this forum who have installed one and could help you through the process. Let me know if anyone is interested in the Navigation/Dvd unit. Thanks.

Maybe this is an ignorant question to ask.... but why didn't you just buy the Tahoe with the Nav unit from the factory? Wouldn't have been much more easier? The dealer might charge you for the Tech2 update, etc. To me, it just doesn't seem like all the hassle you're going through is worth it.
BJABER, WTF?
I didnt buy one with Navigation because I couldnt afford it! Is that alright vette boy? I got a good deal on a program vehicle WITHOUT FACTORY NAVIGATION. I bought the OEM Navigation unit. It isnt a big deal to install unless everyone in this forum has the brain of a BJABER! Tech 2 should cost around $30!
Secondly, I am not asking the $2,500 for the OEM navigation unit that it costs through GM or a dealership. Nor am I asking the $2,200 for mine that it cost to upgrade an 07 tahoe with Navigation.
Thirdly, it is plug in play. If you cant pull out some clips, unscrew a few screws, and plug a few wires in the back of the new Navigation unit please go back to preschool. You should have had building block lessons that would have given you some hope for "CHALLENGING" upgrades like plugging in some harness's to a radio.
Anyways, thanks ZX for sharing your opinion on Vette boy, I never liked vette drivers. Everyone I have ever known has been a dik!

How much money did you "really" save by buying the OEM unit separately? Factor in shipping, tax (if any), Tech2 programming cost, new clips for the dash as they often break when removing them and need replacing (even if they didn't break, they get loose when you put them back and start to rattle), antenna cost (if any...I thought the antenna on top of the truck is the OnStart antenna and I think the GPS antenna is in the driver side-view mirror housing), wiring (if needed from antenna to head unit, etc etc etc. Put it all together and tell me how much money you are really saving. I bet it's not much. If it's truly plug-n-play (+ Tech2 programming), then great for you. But I highly doubt GM would spend the time and money to put the entire nav system wiring provisioning into a truck which doesn't have the system. If they thought better about it and put it in there to make the Nav a dealer/aftermarket-installable option, then hats off to them.
Anyway, look who the preschoolers really are ....you guys having to resort to namecalling from a simple post. You failed to interpret the message I was trying to send which (again) is "Wouldn't it have been a lot less hassle if you just bought the system from the factory and be happy with it without all the commotion and argument with your wife, etc? Help me out here by showing me how much money I lost in buying it from the factory. If you can prove it was a huge difference and took a very short time to install, then I'll shut my mouth. Prove me wrong, please.

Hey bjaber,
Since you obviously don't know the slightest thing about installing the NAV unit why don't you do yourself a favor and stop posting ignorant and asinine remarks?
I think that we can all easily see what you're all about just by the tone of your posts (not helpful just a jerk).
He simply posted about a NAV unit he has for sell and then you go spewing on about why no one should want it, what the hell’s that all about?
There’s plenty of people out there that have purchased vehicles (you name it) and for whatever reason didn’t wind up with all the options that they wanted so they do what people do, they buy the stuff and not because its cheaper but because they decide they want it.
FYI,
1. The clips don’t break (or even get lose) when removed.
2. The GPS antenna is $36 and installed under the dash panel not in the “drivers side mirror housing”(very easy to do),
3. The short wiring is included with the antenna.
4. The Tahoe is rewired by GM with the exception of a small adapter that you can buy from JB customs to enable the voice recognition and commands $25 (w/shipping) and it plugs right in.
5. You don’t have to cut or splice any factory wires to install the NAV, it is plug-and-play, and many GM dealers will reprogram your radio module for the Nav unit for cheap or free if you bought your Tahoe from them, (see your salesperson).
