ORIGINAL: biglg
OMG,
This is to funny. I have this listed on ebay and look what an ebay user emailed me. Is this one fast working dealership or what? A $500 radio install, HAHAHAHAAHA.
Here is his email word for word!
I spoke with gm. they said programing would only be 85 dollars; however, they would have to pull the dash to install he said an six to eight hour installation charge @ 80 an hour. the best i could do is 800 shipped to 37558 madison AL. Just wanted to make an offer if noone bids on auction. Thanks for you consideration Caleb

The funny thing is this. I've been a satellite and microwave engineer for the past 10 years now, so troubleshooting and wiring is pretty much what I do. Even with all of that, their are certain things I don't touch or do, even though I'm highly capable of doing them, I just feel like my execution may be poor. Now dealing with cars is one of them. I pretty much know what's up in theory, but would rather let the "professionals" do it as they're cracking open cars all day everyday. (Damn I'm long winded today! LOL.) Having said that after hearing how ridiculous the dealer was talking, I decided to do it myself. Let me tell you taking out the old head-unit and replacing it with the Nav, including installing the GPS antenna underneath the dashboard, took at best about half an hour. 6-8 hours my ***!!!
Sorry read your post and just wanted to vent and share.
PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! Ha, ha.
On the question about why they might not just get one with Nav - well look at it this way. Maybe they are only approved for a certain amount and don't have the down payment or cash to cover the difference. The Nav is 1500-2000 upgrade depending on your discount if you get one. Anyway - just my 2 cents.
Big - go to the dealer, ask them to let you borrow a Tahoe with Nav, take you wife somewhere, get lost, then fire up the Nav and go back to the dealer! Maybe she will change her mind

Does anybody have the website for JB Customs where I need to get the plug in adapter for the voice controls? I did a web search with no luck. Thanks.
