08 Tahoe LTZ CD/DVD disc read error

08 Tahoe LTZ CD/DVD disc read error
My Tahoe is not recognizing CDs or DVDs - I have tried multiple store bought CDs and DVDs. Other than that, the stereo works fine and the NAV works as well.
Is this fixable or does it need to be replaced?
Is it possible to replace only the CD/DVD portion of the CD/DVD/NAV system or will it require replacing the whole unit?
Update: I can get the CD to work off and on, but there is a noticeable noise - almost a light clicking noise. I can hear the DVD spinup, but it never loads the disc just disc read error
