Question Disc Read Error

I recently purchased a 2008 Suburban LTZ that has NAV with rear entertainment system. The head unit will play CDs just fine but when I insert a DVD I get an error message that reads "disc read error". The manual doesn't cover this error message and I haven't found any good answers regarding this on other threads. The head unit has the DVD symbol in the bottom left corner and we have on OEM flip down screen. Is this a fixable issue or am I looking at replacing the whole thing?

Default Dvd

I assume you've tried other DVDs?

I know, but have to ask

I thought I saw a tech bulletin on this long ago, where some had the DVD logo, but couldn't actually play DVDs?

I have tried multiple DVDs. Everything I've read says that the CD/DVD heads have the DVD logo in the bottom left hand corner like mine does. We also have the OEM flip down screen so I'm not sure where else you would insert a DVD.
