I don't know how different they may be, but my 07 Escalade's heated seats are activated with the remote start.

i was under the impression they should as well, let me find the manual pdf:

P2-8

says if you remote start they will turn on during 'colder temperatues' and will shut off when you turn the key to on.

I haven't dug through my manual yet, but I was just wondering if this were possible as well.

It happens automatically in my '07, so it should work in the '09 when it gets cold enough. I haven't been able to get anyone to tell me how cold it must be though, and yes, 2-8 only says "colder temperatures". It says nothing about the the seat cooling feature, so I'm guessing the '09 will not turn on the seat cooling when it's hot.

Default tested

I tested this when I went to lunch, my driver seat heater was on, i didn't look at passenger.

I remote started, the dash says it is 39 degrees F. '09 LTZ.

I did look in the rear, it looks like the 2nd row does not auto turn on w/remote start... seems like it could!

Maybe "about 40F" is the colder temp threshhold.
When AUTO is selected, the air conditioning
operation and air inlet will be automatically
controlled. The air conditioning compressor will run
when the outside temperature is over about
40°F (4°C).

I always leave my dual climate thermostat set at 75 degrees and in the Auto mode, in moderate temperatures I will turn off the AC compressor and cool with the fan only if needed. I wonder if the seat heater will only come on if you last had the AC off?
I have had mine come on with temps in the mid 40's lately.

Default hmmm

I keep mine at 72 A/C off since I doubt it will get above 70 here anytime soon.

Maybe it'll only come on w/ remote start if it was on when you last shut 'er down. I think that's the way the climate control works. That is if the A/C is off when shut down, it will not come on when remote started even if it's 90* out. At least that's the way mine works. Never checked out the seats.
