1995 Tahoe Problems
Hi,
i just bought a 95 2dr tahoe, i´ve had it for a couple of weeks and have had a series of problems that i´m sure have bee suffered by someone else out there:
1. Sometimes, the engine light suddenly applears and the shifting becomes strange, hard, and fourth gear does not seem to engage, if i stop the car, turn it off for 10 seconds, the problem dissapears... any ideas?
2. When i turn the A/C blower towards the feet or the front glass, works great, but whei i put it in the position in which it´s supoused tho blow air in my face,.. he air does not come out, the blower works, bt no air...
3. When i engage the 4X4 and start going offroad, i get a scary sound when turning tactac tac, going istraight no problem, only turning
Thanx a lot for the help

Welcome to the Chevrolet Forum.
The A/C problem sounds like the position divertor door is stuck or not working. The defrost/floor is the default position on most systems in case of failure to keep the W/S clear and your feet warm.

You need to check the vac supply for the heating and ac under the hood, it will be the only vac line going through the firewall. It is in default 95% of the time the problem is under the hood. You need to have the computer scanned to see what codes are present.
Problem 1 : seems like the transmission builds up too much pressure , because of the heat. You might want to check if there is ENOUGH and NOT TOO MUCH oil in your transmission box. Also check the colour of the transmission fluid (it should be red and there should be no particles in it).
the tactactac, could be 2 things :
1) your powersteering pump which has a worn out belt
2) your front differential that is about to say" F. it ...I'm out of here"
(Could of course also be your little son, playing in the back of the truck with a toy machine rifle, who sees a great opportunity of shooting at the imaginary enemy while taking a turn. But just for now, lets skip that possibility).

Look around it will be the only line going through the firewall. Look around the area where the heater hoses and ac lines go through. There should be a vac diagram on the hood.
