Exclamation 1996 Chevy Suburban Cuts off while driving

I have a 1996 Chevy Suburban k2500 5.7 4WD
It just recently started shutting off as im driving, it usually starts back up after like 10mins but now wont start. I noticed when i put the key in the assesory position none of the dash lights (check engine,batt,abs,etc..) come on and it wont start. But out of nowhere when i try it all those lights come on and it starts. Can someone please help me out? Whats goin on?

The key switch on the column, is it worn, loose, key slide in, ect. That switch if worn out could be the issue.
