i still have never gotten my reverse lights to work either . never really gave it a good try ... i tried hooking up my 4x4 wires and bought the connectors from another truck with a manual t-case and it dosent work never has since the swap. tried testing the motor in the front diff and burnt it up. so its not working i splice the wires and plugged them in and nothing couldnt get them to work so i going to try some kind of cable or something to make the front lock in . been driving the hell out of my tahoe since the swap and it does really really good pulls my 26 foot cabin cruiser boat great and no issues so far other than the t case 4x4 wires issue. and its been a long time since i done it .im very please with the swap.

The PO just put a rocker switch on mine for the Front axle and that is what I will more than likely do for back up lights also.

yea i thought about that also, i might try to pick up another motor for the diff and try to hook it up on a switch of so kind like that. i found those cable lock kits on ebay for 159 and i think this would be a good choice cause it would likely never fail like those eletric motors do. as far as reverse lights im thinking about mounting some lights in the bumper and running to a switch. a guy up the road has his like this and it works pretty good and there much brighter.

Default completed the 5 speed swap, now have ecm codes

I have a 1998 chevy Z71, just completed the 5 speed swap with a nv3500. I have 7 codes showing up on my ecm for trans issues. I read this forum read something about the ecm needing re-flashed? Has anyone figured out the ecm issue? or what kind of re-flash is needed and who can do it? Can I use the same ecm I have or do I need one? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You'll need to go to the dealership and tell them what you've done and you need it flashed to operate correctly. You could also go to your junk yard and find a ecm with same set up that you have now

I called all 3 dealerships here in phx and they all told me the same thing, that they can only program or flash with the vin that is on the truck. I asked them to just change from auto to manual and said no. my original ecm installed and engine runs normally. hooked up my code reader from autozone and it shows spark advance at 21 degrees. I treid 2 different ecm's from junkyard. when i plugged them in, the engine starts and runs soooo bad it almost wants to die, when the code reader hooked up it shows spark advance at -22 degrees. but on the bright side there were no codes and engine warning light was off. Normally i wouldnt care if ses light was on, but im due for emissions testing next month and with the ses light onn i will not pass.

Heck well there are computer programmers out there and you can buy the program from the company not sure as to where you'd go to fund one at my buddy did a 5 speed swap in a 06 dodge and he bought a programmer and he'd call the company tell them what all he's done to his truck and they'd email you the program to put on programmer it self and then tune the truck. Not as to where he bought it at but I can find out in the next few days but I'm wanting to say it was from summit I'm planning on going to do this swap in my Tahoe later on I'll try to search also for the correct way to go about the computer flashing

Do you have any idea as to which wires go from the old start switch of the 4l60e to the new clutch pedal switch?
