1999 Suburban. ECM-1 Fuse blows and fuel pump does not come on
I have a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban 5.7L. I do not hear the fuel pump come on and my ECM-1 (Injectors, PCM/VCM) fuse blows as soon as I turn they key. Is this something (the fuse blowing) that happens when the pump is bad, or do I have a short that caused my pump to go out?
What can I do to begin to diagnose the problem? Thanks

disconnect the fuel pump at the tank, replace the fuse and crank the engine. If the fuse does not blow, the fault is the fuel pump, if not, it is something else that is on that circuit
My 99 burb did the same thing. Check the wiring harness behind the alternator and you will probably find the harness is touching the front of the manifold, melting the insulation and shorting the ecm wire. I changed out a good pump only to find out this was the problem. My friend is a GM tech and has seen it several times and told me. Good luck!
the 15 amp fuse ecm1 blew out my car wont start what can it be. i have a 2000 chevy s10 i replaced it with another fuse it started but my ingen sounded like it was iddleling hard and it was back fireing
